The Bush Mechanics Course

Price for this course is per day.  This is based around your vehicle and includes up to two people.

If you would like to add additional days to this please get in touch and we can discuss your goals on a bespoke basis.

Our 2 day Bush Mechanics course is designed around you and your vehicle, whatever your level of mechanical knowledge.  Our goal during your time with us, is to take you on a journey covering the core anatomy of the vehicle, in theory and at a practical level, then moving on to service and routine maintenance with daily tasks and fault finding.

We will cover field repairs, expanding continually on your knowledge over the course of the two days.  We want you to develop your understanding of vehicle mechanics and tools with the addition of utilising your imagination to overcome a problem using the materials to hand.  This is Bush Mechanics.

We will focus on honing your skills successfully if you are travelling alone as a couple or a part of a group. To encourage you to work together and work to your own individual strengths, listening, communicating and understanding each other’s way of working to enhance your ability to solve the problem together.

By working on your vehicle and doing hands on service maintenance and preparation with us, you will develop a thorough understanding of how to approach your vehicle in the event of a mechanical problem. Some problems will be introduced to you on the course to help you understand the process.  But overall, our goal is for you to leave with confidence and reassurance that wherever you are in the world you will be able to continue your journey.

"Spent a fantastic and fun 3 days with Dave Gunning upgrading the springs, shocks and suspension bushes on our Land Rover 300 Tdi to get it ready for an African trip. We'd returned to Dave after taking his 2 day Bush Mechanics course in May.

Dave taught us the skills needed to work on the vehicle with the tools we have available. His knowledge, enthusiasm and ability are amazing and we now feel much more prepared and able to tackle problems on any journey. His partner Lynsay was also really helpful with advice and guidance on how to plan and prepare for our trip. Both highly recommended and so glad we bumped into them at last year's Adventure Overland Show in Stratford-on-Avon. Many thanks to you both for helping making our dream become a reality."       Pete Ablitt - July 2017
